How This App Works

1

Brainstorm

Choose a topic and brainstorm ideas to create subtopics for your essay. Each subtopic is color coded to keep your essay organized. Need ideas? There is a search feature to help.
6

Rough Draft

Write your rough draft and click on the notecards you created from your research. The notecards are displayed next to your draft, so you can easily insert them into your essay.
2

Research

Research your topic and find sources on the Internet or online library. Then use the Research Clipper extension to highlight your research and assign it to your color-coded subtopic.
7

Revise

Complete a checklist to determine what you need to revise in your essay: Ideas and content, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions.
3

Introduction & Thesis

Write an introduction and thesis to present how you will interpret the significance of your topic.
8

Proofread

Proof your essay for spelling, sentence structure, and grammar. Then, email your essay to a friend for a peer edit or send your essay to an EK certified English teacher for feedback.
4

Outline

Add details to the outline that was automatically created from your subtopics. Then drag and drop in the order you want to present them in your essay.
